High Definition Broadcasting

What does HD do?
When viewed on a large television monitor or projected on a screen, HDTV images are
patently brighter, sharper, cleaner and more life like than those of present video systems
because of the increased pixilation in the image.

How does taped HD affect make-up?
The increased pixilated image is so clear that you see down to the pores of skin,
including blemishes and wrinkles. It is known to bring out the 'true colours' of someones skin which may be: the bone structure, quality of skin and hair structures are on sharp display. Heavy or layered make-up is painfully evident and powder can look very obvious on the skin. There are still many make-up artists that are inexperienced with the high definition quality and don't know how to deal with the reality of the harsh imperfections that can be shown on the skin.

Problems of the skin that can be shown
Bad acne problems on the face can be incredibly noticed and even small blemishes can be shown even if the make-up artist has tried their best to cover up. The 'raccoon look' is also a major problem with HD if concealing under the eyes have been heavily applied and that can show up really badly. If you are a make-up artist that loves to overly thicken the base and over power the face with powder then with high definition you are going to struggle to be successful with HD. With these obvious flaws prominent the viewer ends up looking at the makeup rather than be drawn into the drama which is not the best thing that you could do.
